Experience a Classic USA Road Trip Through Montana

Kick off your road trip in Bozeman: The once small cowboy town is now a booming recreational destination. Outdoor adventurers flock to the city for prime mountain biking, fly fishing, hiking and skiing under Montana's blue skies.

Learn about U.S. and Native American history at the nearby Missouri Headwaters State Park located at the confluence of the Jefferson, Gallatin and Missouri Rivers. This site preserves Montana's diverse geography and was once a campground for both the Shoshone American Indian tribe and the 1805 Merriwether Lewis and William Clark expedition that explored and mapped the U.S. West.

Aside from the recreational and historical options, the city's countless restaurants, bars and breweries offer visitors a taste of its classic Americana roots.

Cruise on U.S. Route 93 to some of the country's most beautiful scenery at Flathead Lake, which is not only the largest fresh body of water in the USA's West, but also one of Montana's most picturesque. Its 257 kilometers of tree-covered shoreline with a mountain backdrop are beautiful to drive by, but it's worth stopping to enjoy or fish in the sparkling waters.

The charming mountain town of Whitefish is just 30 minutes away on Highway 93, making it an excellent basecamp for exploring Flathead Lake before continuing on to nearby Glacier National Park.

Just east of Whitefish on U.S. Highway 2, discover Glacier National Park, consisting of 762 lakes, snow-capped mountain peaks and countless surging waterfalls that will dazzle your senses and take your breath away. Today, just 25 of the once nearly 200 glaciers remain. You can explore the park either by car on the Going-to-the-Sun Road or by hiking the numerous trails throughout the park.
