In San Antonio, Texas, you can find surprises around every corner.
From a peacock strutting down a random neighborhood sidewalk to a bear wearing eyeglasses at the zoo, you never know what you might see next in this exciting city.
Unique Fun on the River Walk
One attraction that is unique to San Antonio is the River Walk, a narrow but very long river that runs through the center of the city, which can be explored by foot or boat. I chose to stroll along the river, passing under bridges, walking the sidewalks lined with cafes and bars, discovering restaurants with beautiful al fresco dining. Your only difficulty is deciding just where to go!
Restaurants, Nightlife and Entertainment
San Antonio has year-round warm weather, and there are numerous restaurants and bars to enjoy from morning to night, not to mention a vibrant live music scene. In the Houston Street District, right in the heart of the city, you can enjoy breakfast, a light snack, lunch or dinner. I recommend taking in some live jazz at the elegant Bohanan’s Prime Steaks & Seafood while enjoying a fabulous rib eye, lobster sashimi or fresh spinach salad.
I decided to see the sunset from the revolving Chart House restaurant in the Tower of the Americas, where patrons revel in spectacular views of the city while sampling fresh fish specials and awesome desserts like the chocolate volcano. Afterward, I recharged my batteries with a cocktail and some live music.
Nearby, you’ll find a variety of entertainment options, such as dance halls, nightclubs and theaters, including the Majestic Theatre, Aztec Theater and Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.
