It’s easy to see why Myrtle Beach is one of the most popular beach destinations on the East Coast of America.

This active, family-friendly escape offers 60 miles of stunning beaches and a variety of water sports to choose from. It offers many outdoor activities and areas to explore from state parks to golf courses and gardens – plenty of ways for you to enjoy nature at its very best.

Tee Time at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

There are more than 100 championship courses in the Myrtle Beach area, and all of them are worth a round or two. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club stands out as one of the premier golf courses. It was voted one of the top 100 public courses in America by Golf Digest. The course’s landscape is carved out of coastal forest and the live oaks and thousands of flowers that surround the course make it a pretty place to play.

Hiking & Wildlife Watching in Huntington Beach State Park

Another of my favorite outdoor spots, Huntington Beach State Park is a nature lover’s paradise. Home to more than 300 species of birds, this is a prime spot for bird watching. You can also spot alligators in the park’s freshwater lake and fish off the fishing pier. If you feel like staying for a while, camping sites are available and you can stock up on any needed supplies at the park shop. Huntington Beach State Park is also the perfect place to hike or just bring a picnic to one of the picnic shelters and enjoy the peace.

Waterfront Dining at Murrell’s Inlet Marshwalk

Murrell’s Inlet Marshwalk is known as the Seafood Capital of South Carolina, with restaurants bringing in the tastiest and freshest catches from the local waters. The waterfront restaurants also offer free nightly music from some of the area’s local bands, so sit back and relax with some tasty food and good tunes as you look out and enjoy the view. Murrell’s Inlet also offers fishing charters, a pirate ship adventure for kids and dolphin watching, so no matter what age your family members are, there is something for everyone.
