Journey along the Holo Holo Kōloa Scenic Byway for some of the most significant landmarks in Hawaiʻi and trace the Kōloa Heritage Trail to uncover 14 historic treasures along the south shore. Travelers can step back in time at the Kilohana Plantation. Here, visitors can enjoy a train tour around the estate, delectable dining and distinct flavors of the award winning Kōloa Rum. Natural Adventures in Kauaʻi
Venture out to the stunning Nāpali Coast, a pristine paradise accessible only by boat, air tour or the rugged Kalalau Trail. Embark on a river cruise or kayak on the serene waters of the Wailua River. Take a scenic drive to gaze in awe at Waimea Canyon. View wildlife and a picturesque lighthouse at Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. Snap a well-timed photo at Spouting Horn, then go swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing on Poʻipū Beach. Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the island’s botanical gardens, which include three of the five National Tropical Botanical Gardens in the USA.
Visit Different Towns in Kauaʻi
Hanapēpē is lovingly known as “Kauaʻi’s Biggest Little Town.” Go on an art stroll, browse unique retailers like Aloha Spice and Banana Patch Studio, take a picture of the quirky Hanapēpē truck and walk across the Swinging Bridge. In nearby Old Kōloa Town, stop by the History Center to learn about the island’s sugar industry, drive down the eucalyptus tree tunnel, grab a refreshing shave ice and seek out Kauaʻi-made treasures. In Hanalei, take an ʻukulele lesson at Hanalei Strings and visit the 1834 Waiʻoli Huiʻia Church and the 1837 Waiʻoli Mission House.

Kauaʻi was used as the backdrop for over 100 major motion pictures and TV shows including four of the "Jurassic Park" movies, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and Disney’s "Jungle Cruise."
