All-Around Fun in Myrtle Beach
It was no surprise to me that Myrtle Beach in South Carolina offered so many fun attractions and activities – it is frequently voted as one of the top family holiday destinations in the U.S.A. With something for people of every age and taste, Myrtle Beach is truly a destination where you can find something new to do every time you visit (though you won’t tire of your old favorites either).
Sun and Sandy Beaches
With more than 60 miles of beautiful beaches, Myrtle Beach is the ideal place to come and work on your tan. Be as active as you like – try kayaking, parasailing and diving, or hop on a boat for a dolphin watching tour. If that sounds too energetic for you, then enjoy the beautiful weather and sounds of the gently lapping waves as you lay on the silky sand.
Ride the SkyWheel
With enclosed, temperature-controlled gondolas, the SkyWheel offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Coastline – definitely not to be missed. Visit in the evening to see the SkyWheel brighten the sky with a light show that features over one million LED lights. The changing colours are a gorgeous sight to see.
Entertainment at Broadway at the Beach
Next, enjoy more than 350 acres of shopping, dining, activities and nightlife, including different venues to dance the night away, at nearby Broadway at the Beach. At this lively spot, you can lie on a bed of nails and ride a virtual rollercoaster at WonderWorks interactive science museum, see the sharks at Ripley’s Aquarium, ride a zip line, drive the bumper cars and watch a film at the cinema. Seeing the frenzy of the fish as you feed them off the boardwalk is also a fun experience.
Myrtle Beach Speedway
I am always looking to try new things and am partial to things that get my heart racing, so the Myrtle Beach Speedway was a perfect stop for me. Here, you can drive a real NASCAR stock car in the racing experience, do some laps with a professional driver or watch a death-defying stunt show every Wednesday night at the Wheels of Destruction Thrill Show.
I ended my day with a smile that I couldn’t wipe off my face – which, I have to say, is easy to find here in Myrtle Beach!
