Naples: Finding Luxury on Florida’s Paradise Coast

By Claire Duncan

If you’re looking for a holiday that includes sweeping white-sand beaches, shimmering Gulf of Mexico waters and breath-taking natural beauty – this paradise does exist and it’s actually known as Florida’s Paradise Coast. As I learned on my recent visit, there’s no question as to how it got its name. Consisting of Naples, Marco Island – which was voted TripAdvisor's No. 1 island in the U.S. for 2014 – and the Everglades, the Paradise Coast features world-class resorts and dining, exciting wildlife adventure and lush tropical beaches, as well as high-end amenities and first-class service – everything you need for the perfect Florida holiday.

Exclusive Shopping in Downtown Naples

It is said that shopping is an art form in Naples – I certainly can see why. After a day at the beach, I was ready to explore the local shopping options I had heard so much about. I walked back to Fifth Avenue South and the nearby Third Street South where I enjoyed a nice stroll along the beautifully designed galleries and stores nestled into Naples’ charming downtown architecture. Here you can find beautiful specialty apparel and haute couture fashion as well as interior design stores stacked with one-of-a-kind items I had not seen anywhere else. In addition to the local boutiques and unique finds, Fifth Avenue South is also home to the well-known brands you look for to complete your shopping experience.

Upscale Dining in Downtown Naples

Downtown Naples is a real foodie’s paradise, full of exciting, award-wining restaurants. At Sea Salt located in the popular Third Street business district, you’ll find fresh seafood flavoured with exquisite and diverse salts, and an extensive wine list. Venetian chef, Fabrizio Aielli’s Mediterranean-style seafood dishes and signature cocktails like Sweet & Salty martini, attract a young, hip crowd. Enjoy al fresco dining on the terrace or inside the contemporary dining room.

Also, don’t miss the area’s popular stone crab at The Turtle Club at Vanderbilt Beach, one of many luxurious beachside restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious meal right on the sand.

Sunset Dinner Cruises

The best way to enjoy a spectacular Naples sunset is right on the water! So, why not take a sunset dinner cruise on the Naples Princess? This beautiful two-hour cruise provides a front-row seat to Naples’ magnificent waterfront estates. Don’t worry. You won’t go hungry either. The dinner features two entrees, sides and an assortment of deserts. The Naples Princess also hosts a variety of special events from wine tastings to live entertainment, so check the schedule when you’re in town.

A holiday in Naples is unlike any other – especially if you’re searching for a romantic and sophisticated beach getaway. You’ll find it all here on the beautiful Paradise Coast in Florida.
